Early this morning (Sunday 11/2) about 25 local Republicans turned out to hear a talk by Neel Kashkari, their candidate for Governor of California, held at the Republican Headquarters on Mangrove Ave. in Chico. But, unbeknownst to the Republicans, the local Democrats got wind of the visit and showed up, walking down from their headquarters 3 blocks away, also on Mangrove Ave. The Demos. carried signs in support of Jerry Brown and local city council candidates, Scott Gruendl, Forough Maria Molina and Lupe Arim-Law. The Repubs. were not happy, to say the least, and some came out to see what was going on. After Mr. Kashkari left, and while local Democrat, Bob Mulholland, was being interviewed by a local media person, some of the Republican supporters tried to jam themselves into the picture by holding their signs in front of the Democrats’ signs.
