The dreadful possibility of huge water “transfers” is upon us. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s 10-Year Water Transfer Plan is up for public comment.  According to AquAlliance, this plan seeks to transfer up to 600,000 acre-feet per year from the North State to desert agriculture in the southwestern San Joaquin Valley. The 10-year water transfer total is equivalent to what a city the size of Chico would use in 200 years. Please attend this important water meeting and show your support for AquAlliance when they “disclose all the vulnerabilities” in the Bureau’s Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report.  And vote NO on Proposition 1 – the bad out-weighs the good!

If you can’t attend the meeting then please show your support by making a donation to AquAlliance. They may have to file a lawsuit to stop the water transfers, and lawsuits cost a lot of money.
