On Friday, July 13th, giant helicopters hovered over the man-made lake at California Park in Chico drawing up water to help douse the fire in Upper Bidwell Park.

As of Sunday, July 15th, the fire in Upper Bidwell Park was 70% contained. All park roads and access to Middle and Upper Bidwell Park were still closed.
